Was a member of Silver Medal Long Island Scholastic Team at the Empire State Game as a senior.... Her sister was a four-year player at Adelphi University... Coach Moore on Melanie, "Melanie has the talent to compete and plays with good court sense. She will help us quickly and contribute to the team in the fall..."  Was a recipient of the PTSA Award Valley Stream Commerce Award... Also a member of the following clubs: National Honor Society Athletic Society, Art Honor Society, National Language Society, Occupational Educational Honor Society, Athletic Leadership Council, Character-Action Team and Key Club...  Also participated on the Badminton team and was All County as a junior and senior,  was an All Conference pick as a senior...
