Alexander Bean

Alexander Bean enters his third year as head coach for the Pace Men's and Women's Cross Country programs.

During the 2016 season Bean led the women's team to a 3rd place finish out of 19 at the Queensborough Invitational. Bean also led the women to a 5th place finish out of 18 at the St. Joseph's Invitational.

Bean comes to Pace after serving this past year as the Assistant Cross Country Coach at SUNY New Paltz. In his role with the Hawks, he assisted in planning and overseeing team practices and workouts as well as organizing team travel.
 
Bean is a former multiple All-State and All-American honoree at nearby Somers High School. He continued his success at the college level as he was recognized routinely as an All-BIG EAST selection in track and field at Georgetown University. In his four years with the Hoyas, he posted a number of outstanding times in track & field, running a 1:49.35 in the 800-meter, a 2:23.35 in the 1,000 meter, a 3:43.98 in the 1,500 meter and a 4:04.54 in the mile. In 2009, he qualified for the NCAA East Region with a personal-best time of 3:46.42 in the 1,500 meter and he came in third place in the BIG EAST Indoor Championship in the 1,000 meter in 2007. He also had a personal best cross country finish of 24.40 on the 8k course at the 2010 Paul Short Invitational.

Bean earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Georgetown in 2011 and resides in Pleasantville, NY.
