Pace University's women's lacrosse team honored at White House

Pace University women's lacrosse team joined college athletes from across the country at the White House to celebrate the team's 2023 NCAA National Championship.
 The Pace University Setters joined 47 teams from schools across the country whose teams represented 19 sports from all three NCAA divisions that were recognized on the South Lawn of the White House as part of "College Athlete Day."

Making its first appearance in the national championship game, Pace might have played the best first quarter in the history of NCAA lacrosse championships.
The Setters dominated draws and possession, had an 18-2 advantage in shots and pushed the game into running time before the end of the period by building a 10-0 lead. It was a flawless performance, made all the more impressive by the fact that it was against the top-ranked team in the country.

Pace won its first NCAA Championship in program history by defeating previously unbeaten West Chester, 19-9. Pace's 19 goals broke the record of goals in a title game, which was previously 17.Â
The game was never in doubt, as the Setters exploded to 15-2 in the first half holding off brief West Chester momentum following the halftime break.
