Darrell Halloran Court

The basketball court at the Pace New York City Campus is named after former Pace Men's Basketball Head Coach Darrell Halloran, who passed away during the 1997-98 season. Coach Halloran compiled a 231-180 record in his 14 and a half seasons at the helm of Pace Basketball.


Member Information

STUDENTS:
Pace University students allowed to the Civic Center Gymnasium. To qualify as a student, you
must be registered for at least three (3) credits. Students do not need to sign up, just show your Pace
ID card to gain access to the gym.

FACULTY/STAFF:
Faculty and staff members are allowed to use the Civic Center Gymnasium. Please show a valid Pace ID to gain access to the gym.

FITNESS CLASSES

Our classes cater to all level of fitness as our instructors are attentive to each individual and encourage them throughout the class. Classes run from thirty (30) to sixty (60) mins and equipment is provided. Classes are offered only during the school semesters with the exception of Yoga which is year round. All classes are free to students, faculty, staff and alumni. Classes are now currently being offered online and in some cases in person.

Student Assistant
Intramurals Assistant


Student Assistant
Seeking positive, friendly and energetic individuals to provide supervision of the gym facilities at the NYC campus. Must be people friendly, present a neat and professional appearance and attitude. Also, have the ability to communicate clearly with the Pace community.
Position Duties:
Responsible for weight room, fitness center and gym court supervision
Maintain cleanliness of all the gym facilities and exercise equipment
Report problems with exercise equipment in a prompt manner
Monitor free weight area for proper use of equipment
Complete attendant logs daily

Position Qualifications:
A background or general knowledge of proper weight lifting techniques, previous experience in a fitness setting is ideal but not necessary.
Must have the ability to lift weights of differing amounts


Intramurals Assistant
To learn and effectively officiate intramural games. An official plays a critical role in intramural as they are on the line during game-play. As such, he or she must be able to function under duress when they put on the whistle and official shirt. This isn't to be taken lightly as it takes a special individual to accept this role and go the extra mile to ensure a properly officiated contest for all participants. Sports includes basketball, indoor soccer, badminton, volleyball and dodgeball.

Position Duties:
Provide a friendly and upbeat demeanor at all times.
Must demonstrate leadership, communication and customer service skills and the ability
to work with students, staff, faculty and other members of a diverse background.

Position Qualifications:
Must know the basic rules of the listed sport.
Officiating experience a plus
Ability to handle in game pressure situations.
Reliable and patient with participants.
