Volleyball Answers in Extended Second Set Before Felician Pulls Away

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Pace University Volleyball found its response in a back-and-forth second set Tuesday night, but Felician University regained control over the final two frames to earn a four-set victory. The Setters took the second set before falling 21-25, 27-25, 19-25 and 18-25, moving to 3-2 on the season.

Little separated the two sides early, with the opening set featuring six ties and six lead changes. Felician eventually created enough separation to take the frame, 25-21, before Pace answered with its strongest response of the night in the second.

The Blue and Gold worked through seven ties and five lead changes in the second set. With neither team able to pull away, Pace stayed composed in the extended frame and secured a 27-25 victory to even the match.

Felician shifted the momentum after the break, taking the third set 25-19 before closing the match with a 25-18 decision in the fourth. Pace finished the contest with 38 kills, 35 assists, 53 digs and six service aces.

Kadence Ackmann turned in a strong all-around performance, leading the Setters with 13 kills while adding 10 digs for a double-double. She also contributed a service ace and two block assists. Jaliyah Johnson provided an efficient presence at the net, recording eight kills with just one error on 16 attacks for a team-best .438 hitting percentage.
