ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Pace University Men's Soccer extended its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Wednesday, playing Dominican University of New York to a 1-1 draw at O'Brien Field. The Setters moved to 2-0-1 after a second half that featured both goals just 13 seconds apart.
Neither side could break through during an evenly played opening half. Dominican threatened twice off the woodwork, while
Joe Zweben turned aside the lone shot on target he faced to keep the match scoreless entering the break.
The Setters came out of halftime with renewed pressure and began to take control, producing 14 shots over the final 45 minutes. That persistence paid off at 64:44 when
Alexander Dutra slipped a pass into the box for
Jevan Khan, who finished to the left side to give the Blue and Gold a 1-0 advantage. Dominican responded almost immediately, finding the equalizer just 13 seconds later at 64:57.
Pace kept searching for a winner. Khan forced a save in the 70th minute before Dutra and
Tyler Passey each put attempts on frame during another dangerous stretch. The Setters ultimately finished with an 18-10 advantage in shots, including a 14-6 edge after halftime, while earning six corner kicks.
Khan has now scored in back-to-back matches after finding the net in Sunday's 3-0 win over Daemen. Zweben finished Wednesday with three saves, and the Setters have allowed just two goals across their 2-0-1 start.
Men's Soccer returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 9, traveling to Philadelphia, PA, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against Chestnut Hill College.
