MANSFIELD, MA. – Pace University football junior Nathen Choute was named the Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance in the Setters 59-3 victory over Monroe University.
The Margate, FL native led all players with nine tackles, including five solo stops, while adding a tackle for loss. Choute is listed as a junior defensive back for the Setters.
Behind Choute and the Pace defense, Monroe was held to just 110 total yards on the afternoon. The Mustangs managed only one rushing yard and were kept out of the end zone for the entire contest.
The defensive effort helped Pace secure its first victory of the season while controlling the game from start to finish.
Choute and the Setters return to action Saturday, Sept. 19, when they travel to Worcester, MA, for a 12:00 p.m. matchup against Assumption University.
