NEW YORK, N.Y. – Pace University Esports continues to build momentum across the postseason landscape, with VALORANT Gold leading the charge in NECC Division II play. The Setters pieced together back-to-back sweeps this week and now sit one win away from a berth in the grand finals.
VALORANT Gold opened the week by flipping the script against St. Clair Academy, earning a 2-0 sweep over a team that handed them a loss earlier in the season. The Blue and Gold followed with another clean performance, dispatching Carleton Ravens 2-0 to extend their lower bracket run.
That stretch sets up a decisive match-up against Kennesaw State on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face Winthrop University in the grand finals. The Setters have found their rhythm at the right time, stringing together strong performances under elimination pressure.
Elsewhere, the ECC semifinal match against the College of Staten Island has been postponed and will be played at a later date. In NYC Collegiate Esports League action, an all-Pace semifinal is on deck, as VALORANT Rose White prepares to meet VALORANT Gold, with contest details still to be determined.
In Rainbow Six: Siege, Pace Gold saw its Collegiate R6 playoff run come to a close due to scheduling complications that prevented a match-up with McGill. The group now turns its attention back to NECC Division I lower bracket play, where it will take on Central Methodist University on Wednesday.
Rocket League Gold remains in the hunt as well, continuing its NECC Division VI playoff run with a Wednesday match-up against Arcadia University.
The program's depth has also shown through in non-varsity competition. VALORANT Vanilla White and VALORANT Azure Blue both navigated their brackets successfully and advanced to their respective grand finals.
Vanilla White secured consecutive 2-1 victories over Penn State White and Lesley University to earn a rematch with Penn State Blue in the finals on April 13. Azure Blue followed suit, sweeping Loyola University 2-0 before grinding out a 2-1 win over Lebanon Valley College to punch its ticket to a finals match-up against Georgetown College on April 13.
Overall, Pace Esports continues its postseason push in the days ahead, with multiple teams positioned for deep runs and championship opportunities across several titles.
