ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Pace University Women's Lacrosse delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Wednesday, overpowering Molloy University in a 21-3 road victory. The Setters controlled the game from the opening draw and erupted offensively across all four quarters to improve to 12-4 overall.
Pace set the tone early, jumping out to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter behind goals from Annie Sheehan, Maddie Schubert, and Lisa Heffernan, including a pair of man-up finishes. The Setters continued to apply pressure defensively while limiting Molloy's opportunities, holding the Lions to just three shots in the opening frame.
The second quarter turned the game into a rout. Pace outscored Molloy 11-1 in the frame, fueled by a relentless offensive push and strong draw control play. Sheehan and Schubert each added to their totals, while Mary Kate Nawrocki recorded multiple goals during the run as the Setters built a commanding 15-2 halftime lead.
Pace continued to dominate after the break, adding four more goals in the third quarter. Nawrocki completed a four-goal performance, while Mackenzie Carita and Audrey Colucci each found the back of the net to extend the lead to 19-2 heading into the final period.
The Setters closed out the victory with two more goals in the fourth, including tallies from Katie Long and Laura Luikart. Pace finished with 21 goals on 35 shots and held a decisive 21-5 advantage in draw controls, controlling possession throughout the contest.
Nawrocki and Sheehan each led the offense with four goals, while Schubert added three. Heffernan, Long, and Marissa Doty each contributed two goals, and Carita totaled four points with a goal and three assists. Lia Villari also added three assists, and Jamie Petrullo recorded a goal and an assist.
In goal, Camryn Smith made five saves while anchoring a defensive effort that limited Molloy to just three goals on 12 shots.
The Setters return to action on Saturday when they host Southern New Hampshire University in the Northeast 10 Conference Quarterfinals, with opening draw scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
