PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Baseball fell to Dominican University of New York, 21–4, on Tuesday afternoon at Peter X. Finnerty Field. Dominican used several multi-run innings early to build a large advantage while the Setters rallied late in the contest. Pace moves to 4–5 overall with the result.
Dominican opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning before adding three runs in the second and three more in the third to take a 7–0 lead. The Chargers extended the margin with another three-run frame in the fourth.
Pace broke through in the sixth inning when
Pierce Cowles delivered an RBI single to score
Nick Carlucci. The Blue and Gold added three more runs in the eighth inning as
Taison Jemison singled,
Brian White doubled, and Cowles drove in two more runs with a single before
Justin Crispino reached on an error that brought another run home.
Cowles led the Pace offense with three RBIs, while White recorded two hits, including a double.
Brayden Sweppenhiser also added two hits for the Setters.
Pace returns to action on Saturday, when the Setters host Saint Michael's College at Peter X. Finnerty Field to open NE10 Conference play. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m..
