Volleyball Drops Three-Set Decision on the Road at Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – On Tuesday evening, Pace University Women's Volleyball saw its two-match winning streak come to an end falling in straight sets to Adelphi University on the road. The Setters dropped to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in Northeast 10 Conference play following the 25-16, 25-15, 25-11 defeat.

Adelphi established an early advantage in the opening set, using an efficient offensive performance to take the first frame. Kadence Ackmann helped pace the Blue and Gold attack, but the Panthers maintained control to secure a 25-16 victory.

The second set featured a more competitive stretch, with three tied scores and two lead changes. Pace continued looking for opportunities to gain momentum, but Adelphi pulled away behind a strong hitting performance to claim the frame, 25-15.

The Setters battled through a back-and-forth opening portion of the third set, which featured seven ties and five lead changes. Despite the competitive start, the Panthers eventually created separation and closed out the match with a 25-11 victory.

Ackmann led Pace offensively with seven kills and added six digs. Keelah Chambliss contributed three kills on a .250 hitting percentage, while Kendall Quinones finished with three kills and a solo block. Leah Mendez chipped in two kills on three attempts.

Aralyn Saulys recorded a team-high nine assists to go along with four digs and two service aces. Alice Bender led the defensive effort with seven digs and added an ace, while Paola Ortiz collected five digs. Emily Cineus contributed two block assists.

Pace finished with 17 kills, 28 digs and four service aces, while Adelphi totaled 38 kills and hit .354 for the match.

The Setters will look to bounce back in their next in-conference matchup, on Friday, Oct. 23, versus Franklin Pierce University at 6:00 p.m.
