PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Men's Basketball turned a tight first half into a runaway Northeast 10 Conference win on Sunday afternoon, pulling away after the break to earn a convincing 78–46 victory over Franklin Pierce University at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Setters improved to 7–4 overall and 2–1 in conference play after delivering one of their most complete performances of the season on both ends of the floor.
Pace set the tone early by attacking inside, as
Jaden Kealey scored the game's first four points to give the Setters an early edge. Franklin Pierce answered to keep the contest close through the opening stretch, but Pace gradually gained control behind balanced offense and active defense.
A
Paxton Davidson three-pointer pushed the lead to 13–6, and
Jabari Nurse followed with a triple of his own as the Setters began to separate. Late in the half, Pace closed strong, using transition baskets and second-chance opportunities to take a 30–24 lead into the locker room.
The second half belonged entirely to Pace. The Setters opened the period with a decisive run, quickly pushing the margin into double figures.
Nathan Robertson and
Saif Saleh scored inside to make it 38–28, and a
David Dix three extended the lead to 45–32 midway through the half.
Pace continued to dominate the paint, converting defensive stops into fast-break opportunities as the advantage grew. Kealey punctuated the surge with a powerful dunk that pushed the lead to 49–32, and the Setters never looked back.
As the game wore on, Pace maintained its defensive intensity while continuing to score efficiently. The Setters outscored Franklin Pierce 48–22 in the second half and built the lead to as many as 32 points in the closing minutes. Crisp ball movement and interior finishes highlighted the final stretch as Pace closed out the conference win in emphatic fashion.
Kealey led all scorers with 24 points on 11-of-14 shooting, adding seven rebounds. Saleh followed with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Nurse contributed 10 points and seven assists. Overall, the Blue and Gold had their way near the bucket scoring 40 points in the paint compared to the Ravens' 20.
