Bryan Powell Earns First-Round Selection in 2026 BSN Draft

PONCE, PR. – A 2024 graduate of Pace University, Bryan Powell has taken the next major step in his professional basketball career, as he was selected 11th overall in the first round of the 2026 Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) Draft. The Middletown, N.Y. native was drafted by the Leones de Ponce, a storied franchise in Puerto Rico's top-tier men's professional league and the runner-up from last season's BSN championship.

Just two years removed from completing his collegiate career in the Blue and Gold, Powell's rise to the professional ranks continues to gain momentum. His first-round selection places him among the league's top incoming talent and sends him to a Leones de Ponce squad with championship expectations entering the upcoming season.

Powell capped off his career with the Setters during the 2023-24 campaign by delivering one of the most productive seasons in program history. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while also adding a block and a steal per contest. In 29 starts, Powell led Pace in total points with 533, rebounds with 150, made field goals with 211, made free throws with 69, and blocks with 29. He recorded 11 games with 20 or more points, highlighted by a career-high 40-point performance.

Upon graduation in 2024, Powell finished his collegiate career as a top-ten scorer in Pace men's basketball history with 1,643 total points. His standout season earned him All-Conference First Team, All-Metropolitan First Team, and D2CCA Second Team honors.

As he prepares to compete at the professional level in Puerto Rico, Powell brings proven scoring ability, and experience to a Leones de Ponce team looking to convert last year's runner-up finish into a BSN championship.
