PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace Baseball fell at the hands of No. 20 East Stroudsburg University (ESU) on Wednesday afternoon, by a final score of 6-1. Six hits were not enough for the Setters as they now fall to 16-13 overall and remain 7-6 in the Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference.
Here's What Happened
- In the first, a double off the bat of Anthony Labita helped the Setters post the first run of the game as a 1-0 lead moved into the bottom half of the inning. Despite the early charge from the Setters, the Warriors responded with three runs before the end of the second inning, giving the home squad a 3-1 lead.
- Throughout the remainder of the contest, ESU kept Pace on their toes, pitching eight different arms on the bump. In the concluding innings, the Setters failed to find momentum at the plate as the Warriors cruised to a 6-1 victory on their home turf.
- The Blue and Gold totaled six hits compared to ESU's 13 as Pace was outmatched in their road meeting with the Warriors.
