Kathryn Zhenilenko has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week following a strong all-around performance in Pace's road victory over the University of Bridgeport.
Zhenilenko competed in four events during the dual meet and played a key role in Pace's 128–122 win, recording four runner-up finishes and providing valuable points throughout the lineup. Swimming in short-course meters, the freshman placed second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:09.80 and followed with another second-place showing in the 50 Butterfly at 31.25.
She also finished second in the 100 IM, touching in 1:11.95, and contributed to the Setters' 200 Medley Relay, swimming the butterfly leg as Pace earned a second-place finish in 2:06.14. Her early relay performance helped Pace build momentum in a tightly contested meet.
All three of Zhenilenko's individual performances convert to top 10 rookie marks in the NE10 this season, with her 100 Butterfly time ranking among the conference's top freshman efforts. Her consistency across multiple disciplines quickly established her as a dependable contributor in her first collegiate season.
