NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Pace University sophomore
Eugenia Morossi has been named the Northeast 10 (NE10) Conference Swimmer of the Week for the third consecutive time, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The reigning NE10 Rookie of the Year continues to establish herself as one of the premier swimmers in the conference and across NCAA Division II.
Morossi was a driving force in Pace's double-dual sweep over Hunter College and the College of Staten Island. She competed in four events and finished first in three of them, while placing second in the fourth.
She opened the meet by helping Pace win the 200 Medley Relay, touching first in 1:54.85. Morossi then swept the backstroke events, winning the 100 Backstroke in 1:02.15 and the 200 Backstroke in 2:15.71. She added a runner-up finish in the 200 Freestyle (1:57.97) to round out another high-scoring performance.
Both of Morossi's backstroke times currently rank inside the top five in the NE10, while also sitting within the top 25 nationally in early NCAA Division II standings. Her versatility and consistent point production have been crucial in helping the Setters remain undefeated in dual meets this season.
Morossi and Women's Swimming and Diving jump back in the pool next weekend for a home meet against Assumption University and Mount Saint Mary College.
