NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Pace University Men's Swimming and Diving freshman Javier Cisternas-Gomez has been named both the Northeast 10 (NE10) Conference Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The dual honor marks the first weekly conference awards of his collegiate career and highlights a dominant all-around performance in the pool.

Cisternas-Gomez was the standout performer for the Setters during their dual meet against the College of Staten Island, winning every event he competed in and contributing to Pace's only relay victory of the day. He opened the meet by leading off the 200 Medley Relay (1:40:37), helping the Blue and Gold secure first place and set the tone early.

The freshman followed with a perfect slate of individual wins, touching first in the 100 Backstroke (54.19), 200 Backstroke (1:59:08), and 200 Individual Medley (2:02:62). His sweep of the backstroke events and strong performance in the IM showcased his versatility across multiple disciplines.

Cisternas-Gomez's early-season dominance has quickly established him as one of the top newcomers in the conference and a key contributor for the Setters.

The Santiago, Chile native and Men's Swimming and Diving return to action next weekend when they host Assumption University and Mount Saint Mary College.
