NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – For the second consecutive week, freshman
Anisa Akinola has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Akinola continued her strong start to the 2025-26 season, providing steady two-way production in Pace's 2-0 week.
Across two games, Akinola totaled 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, averaging 8.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, while adding two steals and shooting 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
She opened the week with 10 points (3-for-8 FG, 4-for-4 FT), 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in 28 minutes against Franklin Pierce, delivering efficient scoring and defensive activity. Akinola followed with another well-rounded outing in Pace's win over Mercy, finishing with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists across 33 minutes.
Through the first two weeks of the season, Akinola has quickly established herself as one of the NE10's most reliable newcomers, earning two Rookie of the Week honors in her first two collegiate weeks and providing a consistent interior presence for the Blue and Gold.
Akinola and the Setters return home on Tuesday evening to host Molloy University at 5:30 p.m. inside the Goldstein Fitness Center.
