NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Following a strong start to her collegiate career, Pace University Women's Basketball freshman
Anisa Akinola has been named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Akinola made an immediate impact across Pace's opening two games, averaging 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 33.0 minutes, while shooting 10-for-29 from the field.
The Livingston, N.J. native began her week with a standout performance at Dominican University of New York, posting a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double to go along with two steals, one block, and a perfect 3-for-3 showing at the free-throw line.
The freshman forward added another steady outing against Caldwell University, finishing with five points, seven rebounds, and her first collegiate three-pointer in 31 minutes of action.
For the week, Akinola totaled 25 points, 18 rebounds, two steals, and committed just four turnovers across 66 minutes of play.
Her consistency on both ends of the floor has already made her a key contributor for the Setters as they continue to build through the early stages of the 2025-26 season.
