NORTH ATTLEBORO, MA. – Pace University Field Hockey freshman
Feline Rook has been named the Northeast 10 (NE10) Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It marks the first conference weekly honor of her young career.
Rook continued her breakout campaign with an exceptional week for the Setters, totaling three goals and one assist over two contests. She found the back of the cage in Pace's 3-2 match-up against Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 22, before erupting for two goals and one assist in a dominant 9-1 victory over Saint Michael's on Oct. 25.
In the contest against the Purple Knight's, Rook played a key role in lifting the Blue and Gold to a program-record for goals in a single-game, surpassing the previous mark of eight goals.
For the week, Rook recorded eight total shots, including seven on goal, while continuing to serve as a dynamic offensive presence for the Blue and Gold. Overall, her consistency and attacking instincts have quickly made her one of the most impactful first-year players in the conference.
Next up for Rook and the Setters is a road match-up at Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
