Women's Soccer Rolls Past Dominican N.Y. in Home Rout

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Behind a dominant first-half performance and a balanced attack, the Pace University women's soccer team earned its fifth win of the season with a commanding 5-0 victory over Dominican University of New York on Tuesday night at Northwell Stadium. The Setters improved to 5-6 overall with the non-conference triumph.

Pace wasted no time seizing control in front of its home crowd, scoring four times in the opening 30 minutes. Freshman forward Bailey Olson led the way with a pair of goals, while Ava Viebrock, Juliana Procopio, and Kelly Dubois each added one. Goalkeeper Anna Fiore posted a clean sheet without facing a single shot on goal, marking Pace's third shutout of the season.

The Setters opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Olson finished a feed from Meredith Klosek to give Pace an early 1-0 advantage. Just four minutes later, Viebrock doubled the lead with a well-placed strike from inside the box to make it 2-0.

Momentum stayed entirely with the Blue and Gold as they continued to pressure Dominican's back line. In the 23rd minute, Procopio found the net off another assist from Klosek, who recorded her second helper of the half. Olson then capped the offensive surge at the 29:20 mark, converting a cross from Elise Ferchweiler to put Pace ahead 4-0 heading into halftime.

The scoring continued early in the second half when Dubois blasted home a shot in the 52nd minute to extend the lead to 5-0. From there, Pace's defense remained organized and disciplined, holding Dominican without a shot on goal for the remainder of the match.

Fiore went the distance in goal for Pace, recording her second solo shutout of the year. Offensively, the Setters finished with an 18-1 shot advantage and five corner kicks.

The Setters return home on Saturday, October 18, to resume NE10 play against Southern New Hampshire University at 5:00 p.m. at Northwell Stadium in Pleasantville, N.Y.
