GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Pace men's and women's cross country began their 2024 season at the Adelphi Panthers Invitational in Garden City, N.Y. For the men's side, that comprised of 14 teams, the Setters captured ninth place with a point value of 280 while the women's came in 4th of 13 with 139 points.
In the women's 5K event,
Rebekah Espiritu posted the best time finishing at 21:47:70.
Jasmine Mares-Alvarado (22:50:70),
Gianna Priore (22:59:80), and
Raelle Gorman (23:00:00) took the next three spots for the Blue and Gold. In the event, the team secured a fourth-place finish.
In the men's 8K event,
Adem Ozkurt led Pace with a time of 30:03:50.
Derek Bustillo and
Richard Christie were the next to cross the finish line with Bustillo finishing at 32:07:90 and Christie at 32:32:00. Pace finished ninth place as a team in the event.
The men and women cross country teams will be back in action next Saturday with the Ted Owen Invite kicking off at 11:30 a.m.
