ROCKVILLE CENTRE N.Y. – In a back-and-forth five-set match against Molloy University, Pace volleyball was defeated, 2-3. Following the loss, the Blue and Gold fall to 4-3 on the year.
Here's What Happened
- The Lions found momentum early against the Setters taking a 10-3 advantage to open the first set. Pace found their stride with an 11-3 run to bring the score to within two points, 18-20. Despite the late push Pace dropped the opening set, 22-25.
- In set two both sides battled back-and-forth in an evenly matched effort. The score remained within two points the entire way as Pace found themselves tied at 20 late in the set. A 5-3 run from the Setters shut the Lions down, 25-23, with Yasmeen Muhammad delivering the final kill.
- The Blue and Gold jumped out to a commanding 10-1 lead in the third set and never looked back. Pace wrapped up the set 25-16. The 10-0 run marked their longest of the 2024 season so far.
- After dropping the fourth set, 21-25, the Setters were outmatched in the deciding set falling 5-15.
