Pair of Milestones Fall in Senior Day Win for No. 1 Pace

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 1 Pace University women's lacrosse team sent the seniors off the right way, earning a commanding win over the College of Saint Rose, 18-3, at Northwell Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Setters improve to 14-0 overall and 8-0 in Northeast 10 play with the win.

A pair of milestones were also hit this afternoon, with Nikki Mottes earning her 100th career point after a six-point performance. Ashley Belfiore drew the start between the pipes and made her 100th career save during 60 minutes of action.

Pace took control of the game right from the opening draw and never looked back. Pace ended up scoring 14 unanswered goals, which lasted until the third quarter when Saint Rose got on the board.

Pace ended up with a 5-0 lead at the end of the first thanks to Margaret Flocco's first-quarter hat trick. In the second quarter, it was Mottes' turn to record a hat trick in one quarter, with her netting three goals in the second quarter at Pace went into halftime with an 11-0 lead.

10 different Setters scored, with Mottes leading the way with four while Flocco and Mackenzie Carita turned in hat tricks. Angelina Porcello did what she does best, make plays all over the field.  The senior netted two goals, handed out three assists, causing six turnovers, securing seven ground balls, and receiving a pair of draw controls while not committing a single turnover.

Pace returns to action next Wednesday with a trip Manchester, NH to take on Saint Anselm College at 4 p.m.
