PLEASANTVILLE N.Y. – The Pace University women's basketball team fell at the hands of Saint Anselm College, 43-56, Tuesday evening at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Setters finish the 2023-24 regular season with a 17-11 record overall, and 13-9 in the Northeast-10.
It was an uncharacteristic performance from the Setters as they struggled to find momentum against a well-grounded Saint Anselm defense.
The visitors set the tone in the first half behind 11 points from Tatum Forbes; eight first-half turnovers left Pace with a 21-27 deficit after 20 minutes of play.
After taking a six-point advantage into the half, the Hawks opened the second half with a 12-6 run to take a 39-27 lead over the Blue and Gold. A lead the home squad could not surpass in the final two quarters as the Setters dropped their 11th game of the season by a final score of 43-56.
Saint Anselm was led by the duo of Liv Robles and Forbes. On the night, the pair both supplied 18 points while Robles secured a double-double with 13 rebounds.
Pace's offense was highlighted by an all-around performance from Ciara Collins as she posted 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
The Setters continue their quest for a Northeast-10 Championship Friday evening as they battle No. 10 Adelphi University with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
