ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In their final day of competition for the 2024 season, Pace cross country raced at the NCAA East Regionals hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University. Taking on the Matt Saint James Cross Country Trails, both the men's and women's team ended their season alongside nearly twenty other universities.
The women's squad finished in 17th place posting 454 total points on the day while the men's team ended in 19th place with 561 points.
In the women's 6K,
Raelle Gorman was the first to cross the finish line recording a personal best time of 24:34:9.
Rebekah Espiritu followed behind Gorman, also toppling a personal best time with 24:56:5.
The next two to finish were
Jasmine Mares-Alvarado (25:58:1) and
Meryl Mizell who produced a personal record with a time of 26:30:5.
Inara Coles wrapped up her season with a time of 28:40:5. To complete the women's team finishes,
Emma Voykhanskaya (32:31:5) and
Alexandra Harrison (33:59:9) wrapped up the event.
In the men's 10K, five individuals competed in the event with
Richard Christie posting the top time for Pace (36:51:8). The duo of
Adem Ozkurt (37:06:0) and
Carlos Zhicay (37:06:2) followed closely behind nearly finishing with the same time.
To round out the men's squad,
Derek Bustillo finished in 37:24:9 while
Francesco DiBona crossed the line with a time of 43:32:8.
Altogether, it was a solid effort from both teams as Pace Cross Country completed its 2024 campaign in Rochester, N.Y.
