NEW HAVEN, CT - Pace Football closed their regular season schedule at the University of New Haven Saturday afternoon in Connecticut.
After a 14-7 first quarter, with the Chargers holding the advantage, the hosts would keep the Setters scoreless until the final quarter for the 41-14 Setter defeat.
Here's What Happened:
- New Haven immediately put the Setters in a deficit with a kick off return and eventually extended their lead to 14-0 on their second drive. Midway through the opening quarter, Aidan Kennedy led the blue and gold up the field to find Teddy Harper for a touchdown, 14-7.
- By the second, New Haven tallied another touchdown, 21-7, and in the third 13 more Charger points forced the Setters to trail, 34-7, with one quarter remaining in the conference contest.
- The final point for the hosts appeared in the fourth, but the Setters recorded a touchdown of their own. Freshman, Luke Porcaro, recorded his first collegiate touchdown in the event on a pass to Elizjah Lewis, 41-17.Â
Box Score Insights:
- Kennedy ended the day leading in two categories, passing and rushing. On the passing front, the junior recorded 177 yards and one touchdown while he rushed for 43. Porcaro posted personal bests in the day with his first ever touchdown as a Setters as he tallied 93 yards, longest pass being 61.
- Nasir Robinson was next on the rushers list with 18 yards and Gary Wilkins led receivers with 81 yards in three catches.
- Cade Saunders led the defensive live with seven tackles and right behind with Ryan Rondeau with six.
The Setters concluded their season with an 2-8 overall and 2-6 Northeast-10 (NE10) record.
