Three Setters Score in Toppling Win Over Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, NY - Pace Women's Soccer wrapped up their non-conference play with the College of Staten Island (CSI) in Staten Island, NY Wednesday afternoon.

Three Setters found the back of the net for the 3-0 shut out victory over the Dolphins for the blue and gold to improve to 4-6-5 overall.

Here's What Happened:
  • Pace dominated the offensive end from start to finish. The first goal for the Setters came from a Hildur Unnarsdottir corner kick who positioned the ball just in front of the net to the head of Hannah Rautenstrauch for the 1-0 advantage. This would be Rautenstrauch's second consecutive game with a goal and Unnarsdottir's with an assist.
  • The blue and gold entered the second half of play with the same momentum as the first and continued to tally more shots in hopes to extend their 1-0 lead. Eventually... they did. Twice.
  • Taylor Moyer posted the second goal at the 50th minute mark off of another Unnarsdottir corner and Kelly DuBois in the 71st minute for the 3-0 victory over the host, Dolphins.
Box Score Insights:
  • The trio of Rautenstrauch, Moyer, and DuBois recorded a goal apiece while Unnarsdottir tallied two assists. Rautenstrauch and Anna English had one assist.
  • The Setters posted a remarkable 51 shots and held the Dolphins to just 6. Ava Viebrock led the offensive charge with 10 shots and putting six of them on goal and Alexis Lee was right behind with eight shots.
