PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pace University volleyball team suffered a setback in its Northeast 10 opener Tuesday evening in Goldstein Fitness Center at the hands of American International College in straight sets, 25-18, 25-19, 25-14.
Pace falls to 7-3 on the year and will hit the road for its next contest, heading to the College of Saint Rose on Saturday for a 12 p.m. match.
AIC was in control of the first set from the jump, taking an early 9-4 lead. The Setters rattled off three points to get the lead down to two, 9-7, but the Yellow Jackets responded four consecutive points to make the score 13-7. AIC remained in control from there and took the first set 25-18.
Sets two and three followed similar blueprints to set one, allowing the Yellow Jackets to remain in control of the match the entire time.
