NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Two goals in the final minute by
Allison Carr and
Cecilia Puentes earned the Pace women's soccer team a point and a draw against the Southern Connecticut State University Owls, 3-3, Tuesday night.
Pace (3-2-1) returns to the pitch on Saturday when they host American International College at 7 p.m. at Northwell Stadium.
Pace recorded the only goal in the first half, thanks to foot of
Alyssa Cabral, who managed to beat the Owls keeper high and left to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The lead held until midway through the second half until Kelsey Burr and Aimee Girard each got a shot past the Setters keeper,
Annabella Cole, to take the lead in the 70th minute. An insurance goal was added in the 87th minute to make the lead 3-1 in favor of the Owls.
Pace would not go away, Carr delivered a goal to cut the lead to 1, 3-2, with under two minutes left off an assist from Puentes. The roles were reversed with less than 30-seconds left in the match, with Puentes delivering the equalizer off a corner from
Hildur Unnarsdottir to secure the Setters a point in the conference standings.
