WORCESTER, Mass. – The Pace University women's lacrosse team scored another victory Wednesday, April 26, defeating No. 21 Assumption University 22-5 on the road. The win was women's lacrosse's ninth of the year against a ranked opponent, with each win coming by 10 or more goals.
The Setters (14-1, 11-0 NE10) put up goals early and often Wednesday, dominating from the opening draw and scoring the first 15 goals of the game while shutting out the Greyhounds (8-7, 5-6 NE10) in the first half. Grad student midfielders Kayla Conway (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) and Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) got on the board to start the game, with the two combining for five goals in the first quarter. Baker), who made four saves on the night.
Senior attack Katie Smaldone (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Township) picked up her first of the day in the fourth, while sophomore attack Nikki Mottes (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) tallied one as well.
