WORCESTER, MASS – The Pace University women's soccer team was forced to take a 3-3 draw Saturday afternoon on the road at Assumption University.
Pace does gain a point in the Northeast 10 standings while moving to 7-5-2 overall and 3-4-2 in league play.
Pace netted two first half goals in quick succession, leading the Setters off was
Alyssa Cabral scoring the opening goal in the 22
nd minute. Less than two minutes later,
Hannah Rautenstrauch took a pass from
Andrea Flores and upped the lead to 2-0, a lead which the Setters would take into halftime.
Coming out of the half,
Allison Carr netted a goal within a minute of the half starting to grow the lead to 3-0. Assumption would not be deterred but the hole they found themselves in. They got to work digging themselves out of it with a goal in the 61
st minute to get the lead down to 3-1.
Haleigh Ward of the Greyhounds would take care of the rest, scoring the final two goals in the 69
th and 80
th minutes to force the draw.
Pace returns to action next week on Tuesday, Oct. 24 to welcome the College of Saint Rose to Northwell Stadium for a 7 p.m. match.
