FROSTBURG, Md. – Despite a victorious first set, the Pace University volleyball team was defeated at Frostburg State on Tuesday night by a score of 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 17-25, 21-25).
Senior
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) piloted the Setters' attack with her second double-double of the young season. The Florida native racked up 14 kills and 11 digs, in addition to a pair of service aces.
Sophomore
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) also registered a double-double for Pace courtesy of 40 assists and 17 digs. She chipped in a team-high three service aces as well.
Pace's offensive leaders also featured
Jada Screen (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett) and
Madisen Lupica (Buchanon, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson), who combined for 17 kills across the four sets. Defensively, Screen matched
Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) with a team-high two solo blocks.
Senior
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) was up to her usual defensive ways as well, leading the Setters with 22 digs.
