SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On the final day of the regular season, the Pace University baseball team dropped a pair of contests to Le Moyne College on Friday afternoon.
Game One – Le Moyne 2, Pace 1
It was a pitcher's duel in the opener. Junior right-hander
Christian Aich (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) pitched well for the Setters in a losing effort.
Aich allowed the two runs across 5.1 innings pitched.
Pace's lone tally came in the sixth inning courtesy of a solo home run by
Dean DePreta (Stamford, Conn./Westhill High School).
Game Two – Le Moyne 20, Pace 8
DePreta continued his red-hot stretch with two more three-run home runs in the finale. He finished the four-game series in Syracuse with a remarkable four home runs and 10 RBIs.
With DePreta knocking in six of Pace's runs, it was freshman
Mason Baronian (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) who provided the other two with a single in the fourth.
