PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In the first of two doubleheaders in less than 24 hours, the Pace University softball team tallied a sweep over Saint Michael's College on Friday. The Setters' two victories improve their record to 19-8 overall, including 7-5 in the NE10.

Pace has now won 14 of its last 15 games, including nine straight triumphs. The Setters also hold a 9-1 record at home this season.Â

Game One – Pace 4, Saint Michael's 0
Another dominant outing from freshman
Gisselle Garcia (Lemon Grove, Calif. /Mater Dei Catholic) directed the Blue and Gold in the opener. Garcia posted 14 strikeouts across seven scoreless innings, while notching her eighth straight complete-game win.Â

Garcia is now 11-3 this season with a 1.33 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 100.0 innings pitched.

The Setters struck late in the opener, notching all four of their runs with two outs in the sixth inning.Â

Gwen Pederson (Sylmar, Calif./Granada Hills Charter) and
NancyAnn Revilla (Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond) each registered RBI singles while
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) knocked in a pair with a double to right-center.Â

Mackenzie Garrick (South River, N.J./South River) followed Garcia's gem with a shutout win of her own in the finale. The graduate right-hander allowed just three hits across seven scoreless to earn her fourth win of the season.Â

Jenny Gordon (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) provided two of Pace's runs with a two-out double that scored
Alexandra Tejeda (Diamond Bar, Calif./Diamond Bar) and
Zoie Iverson (Oregon City, Ore./Alliance Charter Academy/ Oregon City High School) in the second inning.Â

Sammi Swenson (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) scored the Setters' third run in the third inning on a Saint Michael's error after leading off with an infield single.
