PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Capping off a four-game weekend series, the Pace University baseball team (4-3) picked up an 11-4 win over Dominican College on Sunday afternoon.
The Setters' onslaught featured four different innings with multiple runs. After going down 1-0 in the third, Pace erupted with 10 tallies across the next four frames.Â
Senior
Andrew Primm (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) led the Blue and Gold's attack with three hits and three RBIs. Primm's two-run single in the sixth put Pace up 10-1.Â
Luke Jacobi (Edison, N.J./JP Stevens),
Dean DePreta (Stamford, Conn./Westhill High School) and
Josh Miller (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) also notched multiple hits in the game. Jacobi launched his first career home run in the fifth inning, while DePreta recorded two doubles and a walk.Â
Six different Setters tallied RBIs in the victory while eight different players scored runs.Â
Freshman pitcher
Anthony Apollaro (Flower Mound, Texas/June Shelton) pitched well in his first career start. The Texas native allowed just one run in three innings of work.Â
Junior
Marco Siracusa (Kinnelon, N.J./Bergen Catholic) picked up the win after registering a pair of scoreless frames out of the bullpen, while freshman
Chase Swain (Southington, Conn./Trinity Pawling School) posted a scoreless eighth in his first collegiate appearance.Â
