PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, the Pace University women's basketball team tallied a 76-64 win over Saint Michael's on Friday night. The second-seeded Setters (21-6) will now host Stonehill in the NE10 Quarterfinals on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
In a year of highlights, Pace's now 14-0 record at home may be the most impressive. The Blue and Gold have defeated those 14 foes by an average of 13.6 points per game.
Graduate forward
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) once again led the Setters with a game-high 25 points against the Purple Knights. She scored 12 of those in the first quarter as the Setters built up a 14-point lead after the first 10 minutes.
Schetter also chipped in eight rebounds and a team-high four assists.
Sophomore
Katumina Mansaray (Ontario, Canada/Cardinal Newman Secondary School/Tilton School) put together the best stat line of her season off the bench for Pace. The Ontario native racked up a career-high 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Mansaray's performance sparked a season-high 32 bench points for Pace. The Setters' balanced offense featured nine different players scoring at least two points in the contest.
Graduate forward
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) served as the Blue and Gold's top rebounder with 11 boards. Rivera finished just two points shy of recording her third career double-double.
The free-throw line provided a bulk of the Setters' scoring output on Friday. Pace put together an impressive 21-of-23 effort from the charity stripe.
