PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University volleyball fell 3-1 to the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen on Sunday afternoon at Goldstein Fitness Center. Scores of the four-set match were 17-25, 25-18, 22-25 and 12-25).
Prior to the start of the match, the Setters honored their four seniors:
Jamie Bittiger (Saylorsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg),
Chelsey James (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East),
Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) and
Kayla Slusser (Westminster, Colo./Jefferson Academy).
Jones led the Setters with a double-double in kills and digs with 12 and 11, respectively. The senior also added three aces, a block and an assist to her well-rounded stat line.
Sophomore Setter
Georgette Cosentino (Scarsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) was credited with 30 assists and two blocks to go along with eight digs. James was the block leader for the Setters with three.
Bittiger led Pace with 15 digs.
For the Penmen (13-6, 7-3 NE10), Ana Pimenta led with 13 kills. Deanne Wilson had 20 digs.
The Setters (5-18, 3-8 NE10) will finish the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 5 on the road at Bentley University. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
