PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore forward
Allison Carr (Plantsville, Conn./Southington) scored a season-best two goals in Pace women's soccer's 4-0 victory over Le Moyne on Wednesday night at Pace Stadium. Carr scored twice on three tries in the regular-season finale for the Setters.
Pace was quick to the scoreboard as Carr scored her seventh goal of the season in the 5th minute of action. Carr scored off a third-chance opportunity high to the left corner of the goal.
Freshman midfielder
Andrea Flores (Port Chester, N.Y./Port Chester) got the offense moving down by the Le Moyne goal as her shot attempt bounced off the left post. A rebound chance by freshman forward
Ava Viebrock (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./John Jay Senior) was blocked by the Dolphin defense, setting up Carr for her season-leading goal.
Carr scored her second goal on a breakaway in the 27th minute, forcing the Le Moyne keeper back to position. The sophomore went 1-vs-2 with the Le Moyne defense. But she was able to best them with a 20-yard shot that crossed to the low left corner.
The Setters added a security goal in the 74th, taking a 3-0 lead with a goal by midfielder
Kelly DuBois (Malta, N.Y./Ballston Spa). Junior forward
Amber Probasco (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) fed the ball diagonally across the 18-yard box to the waiting foot of DuBois who finished top-right for her first Setter goal.
Jordan Whooley (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) capped the evening, with a penalty kick goal in the 80th minute, a career-first score for the senior back. Whooley's ball beat the keeper to the top left.
Pace outshot Le Moyne 17-8; 8-4 in shots on goal. Freshman
Anna Fiore (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) and Sophomore
Annabella Cole (Selden, N.Y./St. Anthony's) split time as keepers for the Setters, each credited for two saves.
With the win, the Setters finished the season at 6-8-3 overall, 4-7-1 in the NE10. Le Moyne finished the season at 5-8-3, 3-7-2 in league action.
Tonight's game was in honor of the harris project, a non-profit supporting the prevention of co-occurring disorders (COD) through the CODA (Co-Occurring Disorders Awareness) peer led model, and the development and implementation of best treatment practices (including the building of a co-occurring system of care) to meet the complex needs of the individual. The Pace soccer players kicked off a SAAC led partnership with the Harris Project by wearing branded temporary tattoos and stickers.
