Women's Basketball Defeats Adelphi for Second Time, 68-53

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Continuing their outstanding start to the season, the Pace University women's basketball team posted a 68-53 win over Adelphi on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Setters to 12-2 overall this season, including a 6-1 record in the NE10.

The Blue and Gold, who have now won seven of their last eight games, were led by a sensational performance from graduate student Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland).

The Rockland County native went a perfect 10-for-10 from the field en route to tallying a career-high 26 points. She also added a stat line of six rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Rivera's classmate, Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School), put together a stellar outing as well. The NE10's leading scorer registered 14 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six steals.

Schetter has now been in double figures in every game this season, while also tallying at least eight boards in 11 separate contests.

Sophomore Shanice Sinclair (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) nearly joined the graduate duo in double figures with nine points, to go along with seven rebounds.

Collectively, the Blue and Gold racked up a season-high 13 steals and forced 19 Adelphi turnovers. Pace's defense also limited Adelphi to a 17-of-58 effort from the field (29.3%), including 3-for-18 from long range.
