PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In a battle of nationally ranked squads, the Pace University women's basketball team (No. 22) pulled out a 75-66 win over Southern New Hampshire (No. 16) on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 15-4 this season, including a mark of 9-3 inside the Northeast-10 Conference.
It was the duo of
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) that sparked Pace's 10
th home win (10-0) of the season.
Hackett racked up a game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Schetter tallied her sixth double-double of the season courtesy of 19 points and 13 rebounds. They also combined to record seven assists.
Graduate student
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland) joined in double figures with 10 points, while sophomore
Katumina Mansaray (Ontario, Canada/Cardinal Newman Secondary School/Tilton School) chipped in nine of her own.
Pace's offense featured nine made three-pointers and a 12-of-14 effort from the free-throw line. The Setters were especially efficient in the first half with a 6-for-10 clip from long range.
The Blue and Gold led SNHU across the final 35:56 of the game, including an edge of at least six points throughout the second half.
