Pace Volleyball Earns Five-Set Win at Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Going the distance for a second straight match, the Pace University volleyball team flipped the script on Tuesday night with a 3-2 (18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 15-13) win at Felician University. The victory improves the Setters' record to 1-2 this season.

After failing to put away the Golden Falcons in the fourth set, the Setters ultimately pulled out a thrilling 15-13 triumph in the fifth and deciding frame.

A pair of kills by sophomore Cydney Gardner (Snellville, Ga./Brookwood), sandwiched around an Emily Cockell (Springfield, Mo./Kickapoo) ace, served as the final three points for Pace. The Blue and Gold jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fifth set.

Speaking of Gardner, the Georgia native led the Setters with a .300 hitting percentage while finishing the night just two digs shy of a double-double (13 kills, 8 digs).

Junior Brielle Jones (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens) also posted a sensational stat line of 17 kills (team-high) and nine digs. She added a service ace and a solo block on Tuesday night as well.

Sophomore Stephanie Sicilian (White Plains, N.Y./Valhalla) and senior Leonarda Uljic (Bronx, N.Y./St. Catharine) each dished out 20 assists to lead Pace, while also chipping in a combined four service aces.

Cockell and junior Moyah Cameron (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Port Chester) piloted the Setters' defensive efforts against Felician. Cockell tallied a team-high 20 digs, while Cameron recorded 4.5 total blocks.
