PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing the first of two home games in a 24-hour span, the Pace University women's basketball team tallied a 75-52 win over the College of Staten Island on Friday. The victory pushes the Setters' record to 10-1 this season.
Pace ends the calendar year on a five-game winning streak, while six of their 10 triumphs this season have come by at least 16 points.
It was another stellar defensive performance for the Blue and Gold on Friday. Pace limited the Dolphins to just 30.1-percent shooting from the field, while also racking up a season-high nine blocks. Â
The Setters also put together a 40-30 rebounding advantage in the contest.
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) registered her eighth 20-point performance of the season to lead the Pace attack. She also posted nine rebounds and two blocks. Schetter continues to lead the NE10 in scoring this season at 22.6 points per outing.
Jasmine White (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joined Schetter in double figures with 12 points, while 11 different Setters put in at least one field goal in the game. White also chipped in three blocks (team-high) and two assists.
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) once again led the Blue and Gold in assists with seven—to go along with nine points, a block and a steal. Hackett currently ranks third in the NE10 in assists per contest (5.2) this season.
