PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – With about three weeks until their official season-opener, the Pace University women's basketball team was projected to finish fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference's Southwest Division, according to the preseason coaches poll released on Friday.
The Blue and Gold posted a 19-10 overall record in their last season of competition. The year also featured a 12-7 mark in the NE10, which put the Setters fourth in the final conference standings.
The 2021-22 version of the Setters will boast an extremely experienced core of players. The graduate duo of
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) and
Naya Rivera (Pomona, N.Y./North Rockland), along with the senior trio of
Kelsey Quain (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining),
Brianna Wong (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley) and
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) have all appeared in almost every game for Pace over the last three years.
Schetter was selected to both the NE10 All-Conference and All-Met Second Teams as a junior, while eclipsing 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. She currently ranks in the top-25 in program history in both points and rebounds.

Carrie Seymour is currently in her 30
th year at Pace. She enters 2021-22 with 486 career victories.
