PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Seeing their first action in nearly three weeks, the 23
rd-ranked Pace University women's lacrosse team surged to a 25-3 triumph over the College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
The Setters' dominance over Saint Rose marks their fifth consecutive home-opening win, while also setting a new program record for margin of victory.
Carlyn Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) piloted the Pace attack, tying a pair of single-game records in the process. The junior racked up seven goals and nine total points—both of which match program highs.
Former Setter greats,
Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) and
Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport), each put in seven goals during their careers, while Gelderman posted nine points in a game in 2018.
Aleya Corretjer (Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) and
Emma Rafferty (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) also put together stellar stat lines, combining for 12 points. Corretjer recorded a new career best with five goals, while Rafferty put in four tallies of her own.
Isabella Piccola (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) and
Emma Norton (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) served as multi-goal scorers as well for Pace, each finding the back of the net twice.
The Setters had 13 different players put at least one point on the board, while sophomore goalkeeper
Sienna Masullo (Mount Sinai, N.Y./Mount Sinai School District) posted five saves in a complete game in net.
