PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - In preparation for the 2019-20 school year, the Pace University Dance Team competed in the Universal Dance Association's (UDA) College Spirit Camp this past week in Amherst, Mass. This year's event featured dance squads from Adelphi University, Long Island University, University of Hartford, Western Connecticut State University, Suffolk Community College, and Endicott College.
In what has become a yearly tradition for the Setters, Pace's 10-person contingent racked up an assortment of awards over the three-day camp. Most notably, each member of the squad earned a Blue Ribbon to signify the camp's highest individual evaluation on memory, showmanship and technique.
Pace's 10 Blue Ribbons resulted in a point-total high enough to earn the camp's Superior Trophy for a second consecutive year.
In addition to the individual success, the Blue and Gold also nabbed team honors for Gameday Recognition and Program Improvement.
Gameday Recognition was awarded to all teams that participate in the Game Day Evaluations, while Program Improvement acknowledged squads that have attended past UDA camps, and have shown great improvement in their dance team program.
Congratulations to the members of Pace Dance who attended camp -- Briana Damour (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge), Zenobia Robinson (Brooklyn, NY/Gramercy Arts High School), Sedona Trellevik (Woodbridge, CT/Amity Regional), Paige Touse (Fort Edward, NY/South Glens Falls Senior High), Chloe Smith (Bronx, NY/School of the Future), Haley Sellar (Portsmouth, RI/Middletown), Deanna Holzer (Staten Island, NY/Talent Unlimited High School), Jade Cumberland (West Hempstead, NY/Long Island Lutheran), Rachel Wyman (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro), and Jaeda Blackman (Hewlett, NY/Hewlett).
