SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Pace University women's basketball team dropped a 64-52 contest at American International College on Wednesday night.
Inside the Numbers
*Freshman
Brianna Wong's (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) season-high 17 points led the way for Pace against the Yellow Jackets. She has now reached double figures in three straight contests. Wong also chipped in a team-high three steals.
*Sophomore
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, NY/Beacon High School) was productive on the attack as well, putting in 16 points. She also led the Setters with seven rebounds.
*Junior
Jackie DelliSanti (Commack, NY/Commack) tallied six boards of her own, to go along with eight points.
*As a team, the Setters finished the night 20-of-43 from the field (46.5 percent) while AIC was 27-for-58 (46.6 percent).
How it Happened
After Pace held a one-point lead at the break, a big second half propelled the Yellow Jackets to victory. AIC outscored the Setters, 36-23, across final 20 minutes of action.
A 13-4 run in the third quarter provided AIC with an eight-point lead, while a 13-3 stretch in the fourth put the Yellow Jackets up 13 with just 2:13 left in regulation.
The Setters enjoyed their most success in the opening quarter, taking an 11-4 lead across the first eight minutes of the game. They then nabbed a 29-28 edge at halftime.
