How It Happened
In a game ruled by runs, it was Pace's dominant end to the first half that put the Setters in control. With the score knotted up at 12-12 nine minutes into the game, the Skyhawks went on a 10-2 run to put Pace in a 22-14 hole. In what was one of their most impressive offensive streaks of the season, the Setters went on a 25-3 stretch over the following seven-and-a-half minutes to completely swing momentum on their side with a 14-point advantage. The run was led by Jacobs and Cohen, Jr., who each scored eight points during the stretch. Stonehill would score the final basket of the half as Will Moreton hit a three with seconds remaining to cut Pace's halftime lead down to 39-28.
Stonehill came out in the second half firing, as Owen Chose's 18 points in the opening seven-and-a-half minutes narrowed Pace's advantage down to 54-52. Two points would be as close as the Skyhawks would pull, however, as a 10-3 stretch by the Blue and Gold gave Pace breathing room once again. Stonehill was unable to get back into a one-possession game as the Setters responded to every Skyhawk basket with points of their own, securing the 79-68 final.
