Pace Baseball Officially Announces 2019 Schedule

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Heading into their 19th season under Head Coach Hank Manning, the Pace University baseball team has officially released its schedule for the 2019 season.

Coming off a fourth-consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament appearance a season ago, the Setters have 44 contests on the docket for 2019, with 23 taking place at Pace's Peter X. Finnerty Field.

"With eight games against teams that made NCAA Regionals last year, along with the usual tough NE10 slate, it will not be an easy schedule this season," said Manning. "I feel that we do have the right mix to compete, though. We will need to quickly get the offense on track, and have some pitchers step up and give us quality innings."

The season begins with a three-game weekend series against LIU Post at Finnerty Field on March 1. The Setters and Pioneers will play once on Friday before a Saturday doubleheader on March 2. Pace will then host Nyack on March 5 before hitting the road for the first time.

Pace heads to Cary, N.C. for a four-game stretch of games at the site of the 2019 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. Beginning on March 8, the Setters will be in action for four straight days against Slippery Rock, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, and Jefferson before returning back north to New York.

The Setters come home to host Bloomfield on March 13 before heading to New Jersey the next day to wrap up a home-and-home with the Bears for Pace's first true road game of the year. Conference play begins when the Setters host Stonehill for a pair of weekend doubleheaders on March 16 and 17.

The Blue and Gold will then travel to Virginia State for March 19 and March 20 games against the Trojans.

Pace returns to Pleasantville to host doubleheaders against NE10 opponents Merrimack (March 23) and Assumption (March 24). The home stretch continues on March 27 against New Haven before concluding with a three-game set versus Le Moyne on March 30-31.

Pace's longest road trip of the season kicks off at Adelphi on April 2. The Setters then head up to New England for two straight doubleheaders against Saint Michael's (April 6) and Saint Anselm (April 7). Pace will take on New Haven on April 10 ahead of a three-game series at Saint Rose on April 13-14.

The Setters return home to host Adelphi on April 16. After traveling to Nyack on Apr. 18, Pace hosts New Haven on Apr. 24.

The final series of road games begins on April 27 with a doubleheader at Southern Connecticut State. The Setters will play the Owls once more on April 28 before heading to Adelphi on April 30.

The regular season concludes with four final home games for the Blue and Gold. Pace hosts Caldwell on May 1 before a three-game weekend series against AIC kicks off on May 3. The Setters and Yellow Jackets will play two more on May 4 to close out the 2019 campaign.
