NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Despite cutting a 20-point halftime deficit to just two points in the final minutes of the second half, the Pace University men's basketball team was edged at Merrimack College on Saturday, 76-67. The defeat moves the Setters to 10-6 overall this season, including a 4-4 mark inside the Northeast-10 Conference.

Tyrone Cohen, Jr. (Woodside, NY/Christ the King / Holy Cross University / Broward College) put forth another strong offensive effort, finishing the game with a team-best 18 points. He also hauled in six rebounds, while nabbing a pair of steals.

Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, NJ/Southern Regional) and
Greg Poleon (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln / Coffeyville CC) each finished a rebound shy of double-doubles. Wejnert tallied 14 points (10-for-11 from the free-throw line) and nine boards, while Poleon chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds.

Austin Gilbertson (Etters, PA/Trinity) was Pace's final player in double figures, finishing the afternoon with 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals.
*Pace shot 25.9 percent from the field in the first half, making just seven total field goals. The Setters' comeback after halftime was fueled by an 18-of-33 effort (54.5 percent) from the floor.
How it Happened
Down 38-18 at the break—and then 46-22 early in the second—the Setters rattled off a 26-10 run to cut the Merrimack lead to just four with 5:17 left. A three-pointer from
Tyrone Cohen, Jr. (Woodside, NY/Christ the King / Holy Cross University / Broward College) would then trim the edge to just 65-63 at the 3:23 mark.
Up by just two, Merrimack responded with a 7-2 spurt of their own to bring the lead back up to seven with a little over a minute left. A three-pointer from Ryan Boulter served as a seminal moment, providing the Warriors with a 70-63 lead at the 2:10 mark.
Merrimack scored the game's first 12 points, taking a 12-0 lead less than four minutes in. The Warriors extended their lead to 18-4 mid-way through the first half.
